is a field office of under the "Ministry
of Micro Small Medium Enterprises "
Govt. of India. The Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has been
recognised as engine of growth all over the world
.Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development
Act, 2006 (which has come into force from 02nd Oct,
2006) the Office of Development Commissioner (Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises) functions as the nodal
Development Agency under the Ministry of Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises (MSME). At present the state of Punjab and UT Chandigarh, fall under the jurisdiction of this institute. The institute is fulfilling the expectations and requirements of the small scale sector and has the credit to the
industrialization of the state.

Technology Resource
Centre - TRC - has become functional in MSME-DI,
Ludhiana, . TRCs have been established in all the
MSME-DIs with a view to helping SSI units who want to
upgrade/modernize their technology and further provide
information about product groups covering details of
technology (including the state of art technology,
technology generally used and traditional technology),
list of suppliers of machinery and raw materials,
quality standards, availability of consultants, etc. |
